Hey there! I’m the candid, slightly sarcastic, and always-honest

voice behind this blog. If you’re here, then you’re probably no

stranger to the messy, chaotic, laugh-so-you-don’t-cry moments

of parenting and life. Here’s a little about me and how I got to

this wild corner of the internet:

By day, I’m a single mom wrangling three incredible (and

incredibly unique) kids, each with their own quirks, needs, and

one-of-a-kind personalities. My family life? Imagine if the cast of a

sitcom went off-script and turned their lives into a high-stakes

improv show. We’ve got a healthy mix of love, exasperation, and

more inside jokes than I can count.

By trade, I’ve dived deep into health sciences, exercise, and wellness. In true overachiever fashion, I recently decided to add a Family Nurse Practitioner license to the mix while finishing my dissertation. I’ve spent years working with families and educators, from nutrition to special needs consulting, using every ounce of patience, experience, and occasional dark humor to help others find their way. Through it all, I’ve learned the hard (and hilarious) way that perfection is a myth, and authenticity is where it’s at.

My journey into parenting was anything but “by the book,” and I didn’t find a magical manual waiting to guide me through. So instead, I share the nitty-gritty here—the good, the messy, the mentally questionable—to help other parents and kindred spirits who find themselves asking, “Is this normal?” (Spoiler: "normal" is a lie.) Here, we embrace the chaos, find humor in the struggle, and remind each other that none of us really know what we’re doing—but that’s okay.

I’ve never been one to wait around, hoping things will magically fall into place. Early on, someone told me that the harder—and smarter—you work, the more “luck” seems to show up. That idea stuck, and I’ve taken it to heart ever since. Whether it’s raising my kids, chasing my goals, or tackling the everyday madness of life, I believe in leaning into the challenges and creating the life I want instead of waiting for the stars to align.

Part of that drive is my desire to help others. I’ve seen firsthand the difference a little encouragement, a solid piece of advice, or even a shared laugh can make when you’re in the thick of it. Life isn’t always kind enough to send a roadmap our way, but sometimes all we need is a nudge in the right direction—someone to say, “Hey, I get it, and here’s what I’ve learned.”

If you’re here, I’m guessing you’re looking for something, too—maybe a little perspective, some practical tips, or just a place where you feel seen and understood. Whatever it is, I’m glad you’re here. Let’s walk this road together, sharing a bit of humor, honesty, and a whole lot of real talk along the way.

So grab your coffee (or wine), join me for a laugh, and let’s keep it real. Because parenting? It’s a trip. And nobody should have to ride alone.
